YELLOW X AMAZON
Your Voice is Power provides both students and teachers an introduction to computer science through a real-world exploration of how music, computer science, and entrepreneurship can be tools to advance racial justice. Built in collaboration with Amazon Future Engineer (AFE) and GeorgiaTech, students channel their learning into an original remix of Pharrell’s song ‘Entrepreneur’ – a celebration of Black entrepreneurship – using Python computer code.
For the competition, students use EarSketch–a free online code editor–to compose a unique musical remix and can also participate in the curriculum and experience how computer science, music, and entrepreneurship can advance equity.
AFE is a comprehensive childhood-to-career program aimed at increasing access to computer science education for children and young adults from underserved and underrepresented communities.
