Dominic Ng is Chairman and CEO of East West Bank, the largest independent bank headquartered in Southern California. He transformed a small savings and loan association with $600 million in assets in 1991 into one of “America’s Best Banks” with over $52 billion in assets.
Mr. Ng serves on the board of Mattel, Inc. (NYSE: MAT) and the Board of Trustees at the University of Southern California and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures.
Widely recognized for his business achievements, civic and community leadership, Mr. Ng was named one of the 100 most influential people in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Times. He received numerous prestigious honors including American Banker’s Banker of the Year recognition, the United Way Alexis de Tocqueville Global Award and the Anti-Defamation League’s Humanitarian Award, among many others.
For almost two decades, Mr. Ng served in several leadership roles as a board member of the United Way of Greater Los Angeles. In that capacity, he honed policy insights, built philanthropic support and promoted advocacy to address specific issues of education to combat poverty. In addition, Mr. Ng is a staunch champion of bridging the U.S. and Asia through music, arts and culture.
The University of Houston honored Mr. Ng for his lifelong dedication for student academic support with the naming of the Dominic and Ellen Ng Academic Center for Excellence.
