A native of Virginia Beach, Carolyn Hoggard-Williams, Ed.D., was born and raised in Princess Anne County, VA. Dr. Williams attended and graduated from the Virginia Beach Public School system. Her higher education includes an Associate’s Degree from Tidewater Community College; Bachelor of Education, Masters of Education and Certificate of Advanced Study from Old Dominion University; Certificate of Graduate Studies and Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from Regent University. Dr. Williams’ credentials cover diverse areas of Elementary Education, Library Science, Middle School Education, Supervision and Administration.
Dr. Williams retired after working more than 30 years within the Virginia Beach City Public School System. Dr. Williams was affiliated with many professional education organizations in and out of the school system. She was a member of and graduated from the Futures Academy (VBCPS), served as President of Virginia Beach Library Association, sponsor of Diversity Leaders (VBCPS), and worked at individual schools. Dr. Williams was a member of National Education Association, Virginia Education Association, and Phi Delta Kappa. At Faith World Ministries, she was a Praise Team and Choir member. Dr. Williams served as Board Chair and Director of Education for From One Hand to Another, a non-profit that provided supplemental education to under-served youth.
Education is an integral part of Dr. Williams’ life; she has great enthusiasm for both attaining and sharing knowledge. Her other great love is her family, which she enjoys participating in their lives, whether traveling together, celebrating their accomplishments, or just a family setting, laughing and having a “meeting of the minds.”
