Stephanie Walters

As a graduate of the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications at Hampton University, Stephanie Walters has edified her skills in storytelling, production, and leadership through education and experience.

As YELLOW’s Director of Engagement + Communications, Stephanie is responsible for establishing relationships between community and civic organizations, implementing, developing, and overseeing programming and special projects at the local and national level, and creating and guiding YELLOW’s digital footprint and press. Her passion for connecting with others and commitment to ensuring partnerships are thriving–combined with her experience in media–allow her to maximize her potential in this position, ensuring all projects have long-term impact.

Stephanie was the former Program Manager for From One Hand To AnOTHER–a 501(c)(3) non-profit designed to provide kids the tools and resources they need to succeed in the future–where she oversaw programming and trainings for its S.T.E.A.M.M. Summer Camps around the country. Prior to joining YELLOW, Stephanie was the STEM & Entrepreneurship Program Specialist for Virginia Beach City Public Schools, curating programs for historically marginalized in-school and out of school youth, overseeing and training teacher mentors at all sites, and facilitating educational events and workshops.

Stephanie enjoys traveling, spending time with her family and friends, and hosting and producing television shows.
